Jonathan Comerford, a director of Mountain Province since September 2001, has been appointed interim president and chief govt till a full-time substitute is introduced.
“Stuart has guided the corporate by troublesome instances for the diamond sector, together with the very difficult covid-19 pandemic. He leaves the corporate in a stronger place getting into 2022,” Comerford stated.
Mountain Province’s flagship operation is its 49%-owned Gahcho Kué mine, in Canada’s Northwest Territories. The rest is held by De Beers, the mine operator.
Gahcho Kué was the centre of a covid-19 outbreak in February, which compelled the businesses to shut it down for 22 days.
